Police say that a missing 2-year-old child drowned in a residential pool in Galloway Township, New Jersey.

Initially, this was a case of a missing child but as police searched the neighborhood for the 2-year-old toddler, they made the gruesome discovery in a neighbor’s pool.

Calls for help came early on Sunday morning.

The two-year-old was discovered motionless in a backyard pool of a home in Galloway Township.

Police say the toddler was unresponsive when removed from the pool.

Emergency workers rushed the 2-year-old to Atlantic Care Regional Medical Center, but the child was pronounced dead on arrival.

Just 4 days earlier, a 4-year-old drowned while swimming at a resort in ocean view, Dennis Township.

Last week, a 6-year-old vacationing with her family drowned in a pool in Wildwood.

It’s unknown whether the pool had a gate, and if police suspect any type of foul play, however the incident remains under investigation.
