A Mother-of-two who got the all-clear from breast cancer only to be diagnosed with terminal lung cancer months later, has died at the age of 40.

Tributes have been paid to Rebekah Cole, who had a young son and daughter, after she passed away at a hospice in West Yorkshire last month.

The Mother had to undergo gruelling chemotherapy, a mastectomy as well as radiotherapy after being diagnosed with breast cancer in February of 2015.

Tragically, within months of being given the all-clear from the disease, tests revealed that she had an aggressive lung cancer, The Huddersfield Daily Examiner reports.

The Mother of 2 was given less than a year to live, with doctors telling her there was nothing they could do.

However, determined to survive for her kids, Isaac, nine, and toddler Alysia, Rebekah pinned her final hopes on an alternative therapy.

A crowdfunding page was then set up by her friend, Samantha Rhodes, to raise £20,000 for specialist immunotherapy treatment in Germany.

Being the selfless person that she was, Rebekah found the strength to help other cancer sufferers maintain some control by becoming an ambassador for ‘Paxman Cooling Caps’ which she herself used throughout her treatment to retain her hair.

The Mother, who ran Woodview Health and Beauty in Shelley and was married to husband Rob, knew how important it was to cancer patients not to lose their hair during their treatment.

She passed away at Kirkwood Hospice on November 20.

Paying tribute to her friend, Samantha said: “We have all truly lost what can only be described as an angel but her beautiful soul will live on and she will remain in our hearts, memories and minds forever.”

The crowdfunding appeal raised £6,353 and the money will go towards a family holiday.
