Whitney Poyntz was on a WestJet flight with her husband and four-month-old daughter heading to Calgary, Canada from Palm Springs, California.

The Mom and Dad became stressed when their daughter started to cry on the flight and could not be calmed. That’s when Ashley, a flight attendant, stepped in.

Poyntz’s daughter was asleep when they boarded the flight but the intercom on the plane woke her up. The parents soothed their daughter back to sleep, however about 30 minutes later the baby became fussy again. Poyntz said “all hell broke loose.”

Not sure if it was gas or maybe pressure but we did not have a happy baby, unfortunately those seats aren’t made for rocking or trying to put a baby back to sleep,” she wrote in a Facebook post.

Ashley then approached the couple and asked if she could walk the baby up and down the aisle on the plane. She held the baby close until she was able to soothe her.

I was stunned and amazed that she offered and was willing to do that,” Poyntz said.

Poyntz posted on WestJet’s Facebook page after the flight to thank the Ashley and the airline for their help. In her post, she said that the simple offer might not seem like much, but the experience was “amazing.” She also mentioned the airline’s “over and above customer service.”

Never would I ever think someone would ever do that, volunteer to take your screaming child, but she did,” she wrote.

If only all airlines could make parents and kids feel more comfortable!
