According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, a 33-year-old Spring man has been charged and arrested for two counts of felony injury to a child.

The Detectives with Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes unit were sent to Texas Childrens Hospital in Houston, in connection with an injury to an infant and a toddler.

MCSO Detectives applied for and received two arrest warrants for Jackie Brent Nance. He was then arrested by deputies with MCSO SWAT.

“Detectives arrived and learned from medical staff that, a 3-year-old male child and a 2-month-old male infant were brought into the hospital by their mother with severe injuries, consistent with child abuse,” MCSO information stated.

“According to Detectives, the mother left the children in the care of a friend while she went out of town for an extended period of time. Upon her return, she discovered that her two children had severe bruising and internal injuries. The mother, upon picking the children up from the friend, immediately took the children to the hospital. Law Enforcement was notified.”

While busy with the investigation, MCSO said that detectives discovered that both children had been severely abused and injured. The two-month-old infant is currently in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, in a critical condition.

The 3-year-old child has been discharged from Texas Children’s Hospital back to the care of his Mom.
